Quick and easy guide to set up DG Office as a carrier
To start using DG Office, you will first need to create them as a carrier.
To do this, go to Connect > Carriers and click 'Connect to Carrier' in the top right.
You can now search for the carrier and click 'Connect to Carrier' to start the configuration.
The following three values have to be input:
Company
User
Password
You will be able to retrieve these from DG Office, either from your agreement or from the system itself.
The Carrier Address you select here is pulled from your Webshipper locations (Settings -> Locations).
Shadow booking
DG Office differs from other carriers, as they focus on handling dangerous goods documents which can be attached to other carrier shipments.
To configure this relationship between shipping rates, you first have to create a DG Office shipping rate using the Dangerous Goods Document service.
Navigate to Connect > Order channels > Select your channel > Add Shipping rate to start this.
Read more here on how to build shipping rates.
After the DG Office shipping rate has been created, you can setup Shadow Bookings on other shipping rates by expanding the Advanced Settings in the General settings:
After the Advanced Settings have expanded, you can view the Shadow Booking settings:
As my example DG Office shipping rate is named 'Shadow Booking at DG Office' I can now select this in the dropdown menu, which will create dangerous goods documents when the outgoing shipment is created.
